SYSPRO Named ‘Software Company of the Year’

COSTA MESA, Calif. - (Business Wire) SYSPRO, a leading, worldwide provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, announced today that the company has been named “Software Company of the Year” by the Technology Council of Southern California. The award, presented April 30, 2009, at an awards banquet at the Los Angeles Biltmore Millennium Hotel, is based on an extensive criteria list, including product innovation, commitment, sales/revenues, team building, a positive effect on the technology industry and involvement with trade organizations and legislative activities pertinent to the technology industry.

The “Software Company of the Year” award by the Technology Council of Southern California is particularly meaningful, since Southern California is home to the second highest concentration of software companies in the world. SYSPRO won the award in 2004 and was a finalist for the award in 2005 and 2007.

The judging process for the “Software Company of the Year” award is highly detailed. Nominated companies must first pass written scrutiny after which a team of judges visits the company offices of the finalists for in-depth interviews with company executives.

The Technology Council Judges and Selection Committee was comprised of a veritable ‘who’s who’ of leading Southern California businesses: Uri Blackman, founder and CEO of Gideon Informatics; Charles Curton, managing partner, Tech Coast Equity Group; Bryan Gadol, David Hayes, Mandana Massoumi and Parker Schweich, partners in Dorsey & Whitney LLP; Ben Kuo, founder, editor & publisher, socialTECH.com; Carol Kurimksy, senior vice president, PC Mall; Catrina Leudtke, executive director, Technology Council; Kurt Milklinski, vice president of Structured Products, Silicon Valley Bank; Ed Sauve, advisor Global Financial Services, Silicon Valley Bank; Jamie Somes, managing director, Alexander Dunham Capital; and Andrew Warner, founder, Mixergy.

Upon visiting SYSPRO, Technology Council Judge Charles Curton declared: “SYSPRO does have a very compelling story.”

SYSPRO was one of the first companies to develop an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solution. The company has continued to innovate its single product offering, adding unparalleled functionality, ease of use and customization capabilities that enable SMB (small, medium size) manufacturers and distributors to successfully compete in their respective industries by “leaning” and “greening” their operations.

Joey Benadretti, president, SYSPRO USA, said of the “Software Company of the Year” honor: “For more than 20 years, SYSPRO has been sharing in the strength and the power that is the Southern California technology community. As a private, focused ERP [Enterprise Resource Planning] software company, SYSPRO has been able to remain committed to the SMB [Small and Medium Business] marketplace. The company is distinguishable by one very noticeable, inherent quality… passion. SYSPRO channels this passion today as it journeys down the current technological highway of ideas, builds bridges across enterprises and industries and makes a lasting, positive impact in overall end-to-end Supply Chain Management. SYSPRO is driven by an environment of independence and partnership… by fervor for new ideas and the wisdom of previous ones… and by a pragmatic, yet visionary sense of imagination.”

The Software Company of the Year award, in fact, is the latest in a string of awards recognizing SYSPRO’s industry leadership: SYSPRO Customer, Chocolate Potpourri, winner of the Progressive Manufacturing 100 Award presented by Managing Automation Magazine SYSPRO named a Top Ten 2009 ERP Vendor by Business-Software.com SYSPRO 2008 eWeek Channel Insider Product of the Year SYSPRO Reseller Channel voted “Best” by K2 Enterprises SYSPRO named to Computer Reseller News Emerging Tech Vendor List

SYSPRO’s more thoughtful approach to adopting new technology, such as web services and SOA platforms, also reflects the desires of its buyers who are driven by business needs and not by the latest headlines. This exemplifies SYSPRO’s ongoing strategy of helping to simplify the success of its customers. SYSPRO calls its buyer landscape “PragmaVision™,” consisting of pragmatic, visionary ERP executives that are driven by a desire for smart, but aggressive market growth.

The key to succeeding in the New Economy is not to focus on technology for technology’s sake, but to select business applications that pragmatically protect corporate resources while providing a visionary path for growth,” notes the report, listing the following as ‘tailor made’ criteria for selecting an ERP system:Make trust a priority: All successful relationships are built upon mutual trust, and customer/vendor relationships are no exception to the rule.

* Make trust a priority: All successful relationships are built upon mutual trust, and customer/vendor relationships are no exception to the rule.
* Plan for Success: Small-to-medium manufacturers tend to have fewer IT resources, and therefore rely more on the software supplier and/or the implementation consultant to clearly understand the SMB market, applicable vertical nuances and most of all to get the requirement mapping right.
* Find a Best-In-Class ‘Power-Tailoring Bundle’: Packaged applications are built to meet about 80% of a company’s needs. That [other] 20% is the part that will enable your team to personalize their views, workflow and analysis for faster decisions on cost-cutting, business opportunities and swift change as needed.

According to the report, the framework for partnering with an ERP provider should insist on the following factors: A true company/vendor partnership Broad, integrated functionality Highly tailorable interfaces/workflow Excellent references Depth of experience in business size/verticals Manufacturing & Distribution interoperability Scalability High return on investment Changeable/scalable for future requirements Vendor reputation and financial stability

SYSPRO Launches New Customized Vertical Market Focus Food, Medical Device, Electronics, Machinery Manufacturers are Prime Targets

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SYSPRO, a provider of visionary ERP for the manufacturing pragmatist, has announced a strategic initiative to focus the company’s well-established mid-market manufacturing capabilities on four fast-growth market segments: Food, Medical Device, Electronic Equipment and Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors. The announcement was made here at the APICS show, Oct. 22-23, 2007.

As part of the initiative, SYSPRO USA has developed a series of unique offerings targeted to these verticals that will be rolled out over the next three quarters.

SYSPRO has founded a new IT buyer category that it calls “PragmaVision” – the “Chasm-Crossing” bridge that provides a visionary, yet proven ERP roadmap for mid-market technology buyers. “PragmaVists” demand a unique combination of robust, scalable yet current technologies that provide zero risk and high return. PragmaVists buy into new technologies only after there is a clear, easy understanding of the benefits. They do not love technology for technology’s sake – they demand strong references, desire proven track records with new technologies and seek evolution not revolution. “SYSPRO epitomizes each,” says Joey Benadretti, SYSPRO USA President.

SYSPRO’s reseller partner network is realigning their implementation and ongoing service practices around the company’s new vertical market initiatives.

SYSPRO’s more thoughtful approach to adopting new web services and SOA platforms reflects the cautionary desires of its mid-market manufacturing and distribution company customers, who are driven by business needs, and not by the latest headlines. SYSPRO calls its buyer landscape “PragmaVision”™ -- pragmatic, but visionary ERP executives that are driven by a desire for smart, but aggressive market growth.
